Dmitry Dmitrievich Zhilinsky (born 1927) is a People's Artist of Russia, a full member of the Russian Academy of Arts and the Russian Academy of Education, and a laureate of state prizes. In the 1970s and 1980s, he served on the boards of the Unions of Artists of the RSFSR and the USSR and was a member of the editorial board of the magazine 'Tvorchestvo' (Creativity). He oversees the Surikov Moscow Art Institute. He is known for his craftsmanship in preparing his own canvases, gesso, and frames.
