Andrey Andreyevich Tutunov was a recognized master of contemporary Russian art and a prominent representative of the 1960s generation of artists. His work is characterized by sincerity, integrity, and depth of content. In his paintings, Tutunov remained faithful to the themes of the Russian province, the daily lives of its people, and the subtle beauty of nature, affirming the importance of the moral foundations of folk life. In his works, man and nature are inseparable, and his depictions of provincial life are rendered with profound authenticity. A People's Artist of the RSFSR and a full member of the Russian Academy of Arts, he was awarded the Silver and Gold medals of the Academy. His solo exhibitions were held in Moscow in 1972, 1977, 1982, 1987, 2008, and 2009. His works are held in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and other major museums.
