Sergey Petrovich Tkachev (b. 1922) and Alexey Petrovich Tkachev (b. 1925) are People's Artists of the USSR, full members of the USSR Academy of Arts, and laureates of State Prizes. The Tkachev brothers formed a renowned creative duo specializing in genre painting focused on the Russian village and the lives of their contemporaries. Their works have been exhibited at major All-Union and international exhibitions, and in 1995, the Tkachev Brothers Museum was opened in Bryansk. Their works are held in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and numerous other museum collections.
