Igor Pavlovich Obrosov (1930–2010) was a painter, monumentalist, and graphic artist, People's Artist of the RSFSR, laureate of the State Prizes of the USSR and the Russian Federation, and a full member and member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts. He was a prominent representative of the "severe style." He graduated from the Moscow Higher School of Art and Industry in 1954. He was awarded prizes at the International Biennale of Graphic Arts in Norway (1974), the International Prize in Košice (1980), and the M. B. Grekov Gold Medal (1983). His solo exhibitions have been held at the State Russian Museum and in galleries in Belgium, Germany, Canada, and the USA. His works are in the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and the Russian Academy of Arts.
