Konstantin Matveyevich Lomykin was a Ukrainian painter and graphic artist, People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1984), and a member of the Odessa organization of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR (since 1953). In 1951, he graduated from the Odessa Art School, where he studied under L. Muchnik, N. Shelyuto, and M. Poplavsky. He worked in the genres of thematic painting, portraiture, landscape, and still life. He is known for his deep exploration of historical themes, notably the painting 'The Oath of Bohdan Khmelnytsky over the Body of a Tortured Cossack' (1954). His works are held in museums in Ukraine and in private collections in Russia, Japan, France, Greece, Germany, Italy, and Portugal.
