Mikhail Vasilyevich Kupriyanov (1903–1992) was a painter and graphic artist, full member of the USSR Academy of Arts, People's Artist of the USSR, and laureate of the Lenin and State Prizes. In 1929, he graduated from Vkhutein, where he studied under P.V. Miturich and N.N. Kupreyanov. He is widely known as a member of the 'Kukryniksy' artistic collective (alongside N.P. Krylov and N.A. Sokolov), which worked in political satire, posters, and book illustration. He also worked independently as a landscape painter. He was awarded two Orders of Lenin and other state decorations.
