Alexey Mikhailovich Korin was a Russian artist, member of the Peredvizhniki, and professor at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (MUZHVZ). He graduated from MUZHVZ in 1889. He taught at MUZHVZ (1894–1917) and the Stroganov School. He participated in the restoration of the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius and the painting of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Sofia. His works often focused on genre scenes featuring his close acquaintances. After 1917, he lived in the village of Maryino, where he continued to work until his death in 1923. His works are held in the collections of the Tretyakov Gallery and the Russian Museum.
