Zverkov Efrem Ivanovich

<p>Efrem Ivanovich Zverkov (born 1921) is a People's Artist of the USSR, professor, and Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts (since 1992). He studied under N. Y. Borisov and at the All-Russian Academy of Arts. He held leadership positions in the Artists' Unions of the USSR and the RSFSR. He directed the restoration of the mural paintings of the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow (1995–1999). He is a recipient of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland (IV class), the Order of Honour, and other state decorations.</p>
