Zagonek Vyacheslav Frantsevich

Vyacheslav Frantsevich Zagonek (1919–1994) was a Soviet painter, People's Artist of the USSR (1985), and full member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR (1988). He graduated from the Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in 1950 (Boris Ioganson's studio). He painted landscapes, genre scenes, historical compositions, and portraits. He was a laureate of the Repin State Prize of the RSFSR (1977). His works are held in the collections of the State Russian Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery, and other museums.
