Ivanov Viktor Ivanovich

Viktor Ivanovich Ivanov (born 1924) is a People's Artist of the USSR, a full member of the Russian Academy of Arts, and a laureate of the State Prizes of the USSR and the Russian Federation. He graduated from the V. I. Surikov Moscow State Art Institute in 1950. Known as the 'singer of the Ryazan land,' he is the author of monumental genre paintings depicting village life. His works are held in major collections, including the State Tretyakov Gallery and the State Russian Museum. In 2004, a museum dedicated to Viktor Ivanov's work was opened in Ryazan.
