Tsigal Viktor Efimovich

Viktor Yefimovich Tsigal was a graphic artist, painter, sculptor, and master of decorative and applied arts. He was a People's Artist of the Russian Federation and a laureate of the I. Repin State Prize of the RSFSR. In 1946, he graduated from the Moscow State Art Institute (studying under P. D. Pokarzhevsky and others). A participant in the Great Patriotic War, he served as a military artist for the Black Sea Fleet. Tsigal is known as a master of book illustration, author of graphic series (such as 'The Sea of Azov' and 'Circus and Circus School'), and various sculptural compositions. His works are held in the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and other leading institutions.
