Sidorov Valentin Mikhailovich

Valentin Mikhailovich Sidorov (1928–2021) was a Soviet and Russian painter, a master of genre painting and lyrical landscapes. People's Artist of the USSR (1988), member of the Russian Academy of Arts, and member of the Union of Writers of Russia. He graduated from the Surikov Moscow State Art Institute in 1954. He served as Chairman of the Union of Artists of Russia and President of the International Confederation of Artists' Unions. He was a laureate of the State Prizes of the USSR and the RSFSR and a recipient of the Gold Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts.
