Shevandronova Irina Vasilyevna

1928 — 1993
Irina Vasilyevna Shevandronova was a Merited Artist of Russia. She studied at the Moscow Secondary Art School (1943–1947) and the Surikov Moscow State Art Institute (until 1953). Her diploma work, 'Children in a Village Library,' became one of the iconic pieces of 1950s Soviet painting and was acquired by the State Tretyakov Gallery. The theme of childhood became a hallmark of her work. Other notable paintings include 'Paths of Youth' (1970) and 'The Young' (1974). She began participating in exhibitions in 1951. Her works are held in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and over 20 other museums across Russia.
