Sevres Manufactory

The Sèvres manufactory is a symbol of French porcelain that played a decisive role in the development of European ceramic art. Founded in 1738 in Vincennes, it was moved to Sèvres in 1756. From 1759, the manufactory became royal property and the main supplier of porcelain for the Versailles court. Throughout its history, it has produced works in the Rococo, Neoclassical, Empire, Biedermeier, and Art Nouveau styles. The Sèvres manufactory is currently under the administration of the French Ministry of Culture.
