Pavlovsky Genrikh Vasilyevich

Genrikh Vasilyevich Pavlovsky (1907–1973) was a Soviet painter and educator, and a member of the Leningrad organization of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR. In 1937, he graduated from the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of the All-Russian Academy of Arts (A. Osmerkin's workshop). His diploma work, "The Year 1905," was acquired by the State Russian Museum. Pavlovsky worked in the genres of historical painting, portraiture, landscape, and still life. During the Great Patriotic War, he worked in evacuation, and from 1944, he taught at Leningrad art institutions, including the V. I. Mukhina Leningrad Higher School of Art and Industry. His works are held in the State Russian Museum and private collections.
