Nemtsev Viktor Leontyevich

Viktor Leontyevich Nemtsev (1936–2018) was an Honored Artist of the Chuvash ASSR, People's Artist of the Chuvash Republic, and recipient of the Order of the Badge of Honor. He graduated from the Cheboksary Art School and the I. Y. Yakovlev Chuvash State Pedagogical University. He taught at art schools and colleges and led the "Ibresionists" group. Since 1959, he participated in republican and all-Russian exhibitions. In his work, he favored portraits, landscapes, and still lifes, celebrating the beauty of the Chuvash region and the lives of his contemporaries. His works are held in the Chuvash State Art Museum and other regional collections.
