Maksimov Konstantin Mefodyevich

Konstantin Mefodyevich Maksimov (1913–1993) was a painter, People's Artist of the RSFSR, professor, and laureate of the State Prizes (1950, 1952). He graduated from the Ivanovo Art School (1935) and the Surikov Moscow State Art Institute (1942). From 1943, he was a member of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR. From 1954 to 1957, at the invitation of the Chinese government, he taught oil painting in Beijing, significantly influencing the development of Chinese art. His works are held in the collections of the Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the Odessa Museum of Fine Arts, and in private collections in China, Germany, the Netherlands, and other countries.
