Lomykin Konstantin Matveevich

Konstantin Matveevich Lomykin was a Ukrainian painter and graphic artist, People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1984), and a member of the Odessa branch of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR since 1953. In 1951, he graduated from the Odessa Art College, where he studied under L. Muchnik, N. Shelyuto, and M. Poplavsky. He worked in the genres of thematic painting, portraiture, landscape, and still life. His work is characterized by a deep exploration of historical subjects, notably in his 1954 painting "The Oath of Bohdan Khmelnytsky over the Body of a Tortured Cossack." His works are held in art museums in Ukraine and private collections in Russia, Japan, France, Greece, Germany, Italy, and Portugal.
