Kupriyanov Mikhail Vasilyevich

Mikhail Vasilyevich Kupriyanov (1903–1992) was a painter and graphic artist, People's Artist of the USSR, full member of the USSR Academy of Arts, and laureate of the Lenin and State Prizes. He graduated from VKhUTEIN in Moscow (1929), where he studied under P.V. Miturich and N.N. Kupreyanov. He was a member of the 'Kukryniksy' collective (alongside N.P. Krylov and N.A. Sokolov), known for political satire, posters, and book illustrations. As an independent painter, he worked primarily in the landscape genre. He was awarded the Order of Lenin, the Order of the Patriotic War (1st class), and other state honors.
