Korin Alexey Mikhailovich

Alexey Mikhailovich Korin was a Russian artist, member of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions, and professor at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (MSPSA). He graduated from the MSPSA in 1889, where he studied under V.G. Perov, I.M. Pryanishnikov, and V.E. Makovsky. He is known for his genre paintings, in which he often depicted his close acquaintances. From 1894 to 1917, he taught at the MSPSA, worked on the restoration of icons and frescoes at the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius, and participated in painting the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Sofia. His works are held in major museum collections, including the Tretyakov Gallery and the Russian Museum.
