Kokurin Valery Grigoryevich

Valery Grigoryevich Kokurin (born 1930) is a painter, Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1980), and People's Artist of Russia (1998). He has been a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR since 1960. He is a prominent representative of the 'Vladimir School of Landscape'. In 2005, he was awarded the Gold Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts, and in 2010, the V. I. Surikov Gold Medal. He has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions. His works are held in the collections of the Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian Museum, the Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve, and other major museums.
