Klychev Izzat Nazarovich

Izzat Nazarovich Klychev was a Soviet painter, People's Artist of the USSR, and corresponding member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR. In 1953, he graduated from the I. E. Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (B. V. Ioganson's studio). From 1954 to 1958, he worked in the creative painting studio of the USSR Academy of Arts in Leningrad under the guidance of A. M. Gerasimov. He is the author of genre paintings dedicated to Soviet Turkmenistan, portraits of contemporaries, and still lifes. In 1967, he was awarded the USSR State Prize for the series of paintings 'My Turkmenistan.' From 1962 to 1965, he served as Chairman of the Board of the Union of Artists of the Turkmen SSR. He was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, the Order of the Red Star, the Order of the Patriotic War 2nd class, and medals of the USSR.
