Formozov Valerian Mikhailovich

Valerian Mikhailovich Formozov (1921–2004) was a Moscow-based painter and Honored Artist of the RSFSR. He graduated from the Gorky Art College (1949) and the Academy of Arts of the Latvian SSR, where he studied under E. F. Kalnins and J. J. Tilbergs. From 1952 to 1964, he taught in Riga. He became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR in 1956 and was awarded a Certificate of Honor by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. His works are held in private collections in Russia, France, Great Britain, the USA, and Germany.
