Werfel Factory
The Werfel factory was founded in 1842 by bronze master Fyodor Werfel, but the enterprise's peak was achieved under his son, Karl Werfel. From 1873, Karl became the sole owner of the firm, which specialized in artistic bronze and stone carving. The company collaborated extensively with the House of Fabergé and became a purveyor to the Imperial Court in 1895. The factory was renowned for its interior sculpture, animalistic compositions, and items in the 'Russian style.' In 1914, the factory was acquired by the House of Fabergé.
